About Angela Vincent

My fascination with cameras and photography began at a very young age. I would beg my father to let me wind the film and press the shutter on his Canon AE-1 when he got to the end of the roll. To this day, the click of a shutter on a film camera is still one of my favorite noises. My childhood was filled with LOTS of rolls of 110 and 35mm film on point and shoot cameras. Finally, on my 18th birthday, my parents gifted me with a "real" camera, a Canon SLR. I spent the next several years figuring out how to use the camera and wasted a lot of film in the process. Thankfully, the advent and commercialization of the digital camera came along about seven years later and I was able to upgrade. I now shoot almost exclusively with my Pentax K-5 DSLR and bevy of lenses.

Nature, in my opinion, is the perfect subject. While it is constantly changing, there is always something beautiful in it. I'm particularly fortunate to live close to one of the top zoos and one of the top Botanical Gardens in the country, the St. Louis Zoo and the Missouri Botanical Garden. This zoo affords amazing, unobstructed views of the animals in beautiful naturalistic settings and the Botanical Garden boasts 79 acres of expertly landscaped gardens. I've been lucky to have been able to capture many amazing images at both locations.

I hope you enjoy my photography and if you wish to contact me about any of my work, please feel free to reach out to me at amvincentphoto@aol.com.
